What We Do

On The Go! is unique in its commitment to provide a social life of fun and entertainment as well as a setting for growth and development. Students attending On The Go! will gain a greater knowledge of their world and their role in it as they explore the opportunities of life. Through program activities and events, they will experience the freedom of making choices and the responsibility of independence. They will obtain a higher level of consciousness for their surroundings and the people in it, approaching diversity with a new appreciation and a desire to be a part of it.

How We Do It

On The Go! delivers a well-rounded venue of social activities including but not limited to cultural events, historical sites, adventurous trips, scenic ventures, sports, theater, boat cruises, dining out, cooking classes, shopping trips, mall excursions, and social gatherings.

  • Sponsoring evening and weekend activities to complement school and work.
  • Allowing for a life with greater freedom, comparable to their non-disabled peers, free from the intangible and former existing barriers.
  • Forming friendships and support groups while leaning life-applicable skills.
  • Providing encouragement and support to pursue personal goals and overcome individual challenges.

Who We Are

On The Go! was defunded in the 2009 CA State budget legislation. The program now relies upon donations, grants and private pay to continue operations. On The Go! serves approximately 100 young to elder adults in a one staff to every three adult support ratio. All students have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. Activities and events are scheduled year round, throughout the week and weekends.

Location

On The Go! is located in Placer County, one of the fastest growing counties in California. Based in Roseville, On The Go! is centrally located with access to the surrounding state capital, Tahoe, the Sierras, Napa Valley, Coloma and Placerville Gold Rush Historic Country, and the city of San Francisco. There is no limit to the adventure to be had!
