Bridges To Independence

Going above and beyond the norm, Roseville Adult Center dares to raise the level of services offered to meet the needs of those clients who chose to embrace a greater level of independence and self-sufficiency. Bridges To Independence is an advanced course designed to assist the individual in achieving more for him/herself. In this course the student’s dreams and desires are transformed in to doable plans of action. Competent staff help the student to identify their strengths, tap in to their abilities, recognize their limitations, and define the necessities in their life. Then carefully selected curriculum support each student individually in:

  • Understanding their rights and how they apply to them, and others socially,
  • Implementing self-advocacy skills to define their life and themselves in it, and
  • Exercising their freedom of choice in all their daily activities.
  • Using advanced communication and socialization skills,
  • Demonstrating maturity in the interactive environments,
  • Employing sophisticated relationship skills such as courtesy and patience, and
  • Developing and maintaining quality relationships.
  • Clarifying and carrying out their daily responsibilities,
  • Learning vocational skills and service through community volunteer work, and
  • Achieving wide-range community access.
  • Recognizing the importance of and being responsible for ones personal safety,
  • Obtaining a greater awareness of oneself, self-expression and self-control, and
  • Problem solving as an individual and with in a peer group.
